candy sweet sugar confection ：都有“糖”的意思。
candy /?k?ndi/：
为美式英语用词。指糖果。
eg. The candy tastes sweet.
这糖果尝起来很甜。
sweet /swi?t/：
为英式英语用词。作糖果解时，常用复数形式。
eg. sweets shop 糖果商店
sugar /???ɡ?r/：
指砂糖和白砂糖，一般不指经过食品厂加工的糖果。
eg. brown sugar 红糖 white sugar 白糖
confection /k?n?fek?n/：
指甜食，如糖果、蜜饯等，是各种含糖食品的总称。
eg. a confection made with honey and nuts.
...一种由蜂蜜和坚果制成的甜食。
chimney funnel : 都指“烟囱”
chimney /?t??mni/：
指普通家庭住宅中的烟囱，即烟囱高出房顶的那一部分。
eg. The boy was sweeping the chimney.
男孩子在打扫烟囱。

指汽船、蒸汽机等的烟囱，多与机器相联系。
eg. a ship with three masts and two funnels.

cleanly clean : 本组看似同义词，实则不是，但是较容易混淆。
cleanly /?kli?nli/：
作副词时指干净地、干脆利索地。仅能用来修饰动词，常置于动词之后或过去分词之前。
eg. He dived in cleanly, entering the water in a straight line.
他跳得干净利落，笔直地进入水中。
clean /kli?n/ ：
作副词时指全然地、彻底地。多用来修饰动词、形容词、副词、介词短语等。
eg. It was clean impossible to finish the work in such a short time.
在如此短地时间内要完成这项工作是完全不可能的。
*作形容词时，cleanly指具有保持干净的习惯，或倾向于保持清洁，很注意干净。clean则指外表或环境是清洁、干净的（相对于脏乱而言）。
belch burp disgorge regurgitate ：均有“喷吐”的意思。
belch /belt?/ ：
打嗝。指伴随声音从胃里喷出气体，亦指其他伴随着大声喷出的动作。
eg. Garland covered his mouth with his hand and belched discreetly.
加兰用手捂住嘴，小心翼翼地打了个嗝。
burp /b??rp/：
指打嗝儿，亦指任何发出类似人打嗝儿声音的现象。可与belch换用。
eg. Charlie burped loudly.
查理打了一个响嗝。
disgorge /d?s?ɡ??rd?/：
为gorge (吞咽) 的反义词，强调将先前吞咽下的东西吐出、派出。喻指被迫交还非法所得。
eg. Don't try to disgorge, but call for medical treatment immediately.
不要尝试呕吐，并请立即就医处理。
The soldiers had to disgorge the jewels which they had plundered.

反胃，反刍。指胃中未完全消化的食物涌回口中。
eg. When no other food is available, they regurgitate the honeydew to feed the colony.
